Wolf Signs Master Service Agreement with PITO

Vancouver, BC – December 21, 2007 – Wolf today announced that subject to the satisfactory completion of conformance testing Wolf will be certified to offer EMR systems to physicians receiving PITO funding over the next five years. This development marks an important milestone in the EMR procurement process in British Columbia. Wolf will now be one of only two EMR vendors in Canada certified in all three funded markets to deliver electronic medical records technology to eligible physicians in Ontario, Alberta and BC.

Commented Dr. Brendan Byrne, Wolf’s president and CEO: “This is a fantastic milestone for Wolf and a huge step forward for BC physicians. After 15 years working closely with BC’s EMR early adopters, we’re excited to see the government remove the financial barriers to wider EMR deployment in the province. This funding puts improved health care services, health incomes, and vastly superior physician access to clinical information within reach of all BC physicians.”

What Our Clients are Saying About Us

"I have been a user of Wolf Medical EMR for over three years now in my family practice.  I run a paperless office, and I find that the patients, my office staff and I myself have all had an excellent experience with it.  Locums have found it quick to learn and easily managed.  The clear, concise and well organized flow of information is invaluable to me.  Product development has been aggressive and continuous, and product support is now at a very impressive level.  I am continually updated on my skills in using the product through the Wolf Webinar program, and when I need help otherwise, Wolf  is a quick toll free phone call away.  Through their years of steady growth, Wolf has been working hard to keep me on the cutting edge of EMR.  I fully intend to continue using the product for my practice, and could not imagine now having to consider using a paper chart as part of my practice."

Dr Lloyd Westby, Penticton, BC

“I am very pleased with Wolf. I have not had a single billing issue since switching three years ago. It is so easy to use and the reports that are generated are perfect for my practice. Customer service is also great! I do recommend Wolf without hesitation.”

Dr. Heidi Postowski, Podiatrist, Victoria BC

"Wolf is fun and easy! I am not a computer genious and I have mastered the software in about 1 week. It puts patient data right at your finger tips! I love how I am able to compose consult requests so quickly and internally fax them to the consultant instantly. The billing is easy and can be submitted quickly at the end of each day.

Wolf has dramatically decreased the amount of paper work that I have to do at the end of the day. Wolf has dramatically cut down on the number of MOAs that I need in my practice. No more wasted time processing paper charts. My MOAs spend more time on direct patient care. I have more time with patients because I don’t have to waste time finding information in paper charts.

I am truly completely paperless!!"

Dr. Blair Stanley, Trail, B.C.

"I converted an existing paper based practice in 2003 to Wolf, after doing research into different EMR options. I found Wolf to be the only one filling all the criteria I had.

Since 2003 my solo practice has gone from strength to strength, every month I find new and innovative ways to streamline my practice and cut down on overhead costs.

Running the whole spectrum of wolf software allowed me to analyze booking trends among my patients, I found vital statistics relating to patient waiting times, time spent on consultations, etc.

The practice search function recently helped to identify all Chronic Kidney disease patients in my practice by simply searching lab records for low GFR values.

I have been able to setup various alerts and reminders through the rules engine in wolf to help me manage my diabetics better. These reminders would analyze the patient's chart while they are sitting in my exam room, any deficiencies is immediately identified and can be acted upon.

Spending extra time in the office doing "paper work" has disappeared. I now drive home earlier, and should there be extra work that needs done, I can easily log into my server from home and get it done.

I can also access my office schedule from home to see what the day ahead is going to be like and leave messages to my staff for execution before I get to the office.

Since I converted my practice, I have not had any hardware or software problems or failures. We had one day where the power was out for 3 hours, I could have kept working if I had battery operated lights, since the computers kept going.

Wolf has opened the door for the medical community to the future, well done.

Regards

Dr Johan Blignaut

NEWS ::

Chronic Disease Management - Wolf now has Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Flowsheets incorporated into the WorkDesk. These flowsheets allow you to track symptoms, labs, medications and other relevant information over time regarding a specific chronic disease. A Diabetes flowsheet as well as a Congestive Heart Failure flowsheet are currently available and are fully integrated with the Ministry CDM Toolkit web site to allow uploading of patient data to the Ministry. Practice Search can be used to generate lists similar to the reports available on the Ministry website. For example, you can create a Recall Report by generating a list of patients who require an office visit to complete specific tests and/or procedures based on clinical practice guidelines and protocols. However, unlike the Ministry Toolkit, you can then click a button to create follow-ups for all or selected patients. The following CDM flowsheets will be available in the future: Depression, Chronic Kidney Disease, and Prevention. You can also create your own CDM Flowsheet! Refer to the Help Files for the topic: 'Chronic Disease Management Report Configuration'. If you don't currently have the Diabetes and CHF flowsheets, contact support@wolfmedical.com.
